When looking for the newest diet ideas you need look no further than Wu Yi Green Tea.

You will see it referenced repeatedly on line and in print. This Chinese Tea is actually not a pure green tea, it is one of the most widely used Oolong Teas. Not as sweet as a Black Tea and less grassy tasting than a true green, Oolong Tea is considered a blue-green tea. Brewed to be strong the bitterness actually leaves a sweet aftertaste.

The popularity of WuYi Tea in China and elsewhere stems from the excellent antioxidant properties and polyphenal, a metabolism booster. The metabolism booster is great for weight loss, and also aids in clearing skin and strengthening bones and the immune system.

Wu Yi tea gets its name from the Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian, where it is grown. Thea tea is sun-dried, tossed to aid in oxidation, heated, then rolled into strands of small balls. The leaves are then roasted to remove any moisture remaining, and it is ready for brewing.

Wuyi Oolong grows defiantly in the gaps of the mountainous rock, rendering cultivation both arduous and spellbindingly beautiful. This tea is famous for its “”dragonfly’s head, frog’s limbs and three colors.”" The latter refers to the green, red and brown colors found in the cross-section of each leaf.
