Sage Tea is a common Herbal Tea Infusion. Sage has one of the longest histories of use of any culinary or medicinal herb.
Over the course of history, Sage has been used as a fertility drug, to stop bleeding of wounds and clean ulcers and sores, to improve memory, for sore throats, sprains, swelling, coughs, excessive menstrual bleeding, rheumatism, and to dry up a mother’s milk when nursing was stopped.
As you can see, there is a wide range of ailments thought to be improved by Sage Tea. The one health benefit of Sage Teas that seems to show immediate results is the calming of a headache.
Steep a few tablespoons of fresh sage leaves in boiling water for 8-10 minutes for a nice strong sage tea. Adding some lemon or orange peel to the infusion gives it a fresh taste.
